weddings

spotting the wedding party for photo shooting around the town makes me happy and this month, i got to attend two of their happy moment!

one was at the winery near yarra valley.  the second i saw this venue, i fell in love!
rustic and casual atmosphere was really suite the bride and the groom, and the weather was also perfect for their big day.

and the following weekend, we attended church wedding in city.
very different from the week before but it was also stunning and majestic.

brides always make me feel like crying.  don’t know why but they were so beautiful in white.  and also it makes me smile to see the grooms’ happy faces especially when they see their princesses.

witnessing couples’ happy moment made me realise how far we came from that moment and appreciate everyone and everything – good and bad – made us who we are now.

many many congrats to newly wedded couples!!

my salad

my salad.

i have never been a big fan of salad.
as a child, i thought salad leaves are for tiny insects.
once grown up, i ate it because it’s good for my body.
and then when i started to like it and gradually tried many kinds, here came the bowel surgery.
after the surgery, raw food is very scary thing for me.  it can cause bowel blockage.

so now i am very careful about what, how much, when to eat.
in summer days, especially like today; 35 degrees!, i really want to eat fresh veggies.
so i try to make small quantity so i can make my mouth and bowel happy.

today’s veggies.  nothing special. just choose from what i’ve got in the fridge.
i try to cut as thinly as possible and boil or steam a short period of time.
wish i could eat raw though.. actually i eat a little bit  while cooking ;p
i love raw carrot a lot but it’s full of fibre. so i have to be careful!!

i also have little helpers in a jar.  again, many of them are full of fiber, so i always ask my body how much i can eat.  then, i grate them finely if my body tells me i can eat them.
for sweetness, i use oligo sugar, which not only feed me but good bacteria in my tummy!

i usually decide the flavor after or while i cut everything unless i decide and determined to cook something!
today i made japanese style with sesame, soy sauce and sour plum.
it was really refreshing!

calendar

our calendar.

inspired by ikea magazine “live”, my hubby made this framed calendar.
the frame is from mulbury.  we love their recycle timber frames.

now i use white board marker to fill in our schedule on the glass.

a merry and happy new year!

beginning of new year.

always feel special and rather ritual to wait for the first sunrise in the chilly air.

i pray the first rising sun of the year and felt the warmth of the sun and felt blessed.

(at the same time, i knew it was the beginning of another hot hot day!)

may the beautiful new year bring you and me a lots of laughter and yummy food!!
